Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-08.1 · Effective 2026-10-08

  • Your savings and loan services are provided by your institution, which holds its own licence. Finbriva provides the technology.
  • Keep your phone, sign-in codes and QR code private. Report anything you do not recognise to your institution.
  • Loan terms, fees and repayment schedules are shown before you accept them and are binding once accepted.
  • Your institution uses your information, including location at collection points, to verify transactions and assess credit, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
  • You can ask for a copy of your data or for deletion from your Profile. Financial records are kept as the law requires.

1. Who provides the service

Finbriva ([REGISTERED COMPANY NAME AND REGISTRATION NUMBER — PENDING], [REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS — PENDING]) provides a technology platform used by Ghana-based savings and lending institutions ("your institution"). Your institution offers the savings, susu and loan products you use and is responsible for them under its own licence from the Bank of Ghana or other regulator. Finbriva does not lend, take deposits, set loan terms or make credit decisions.

These terms apply when you use the customer app, the customer web portal, USSD services or any service your institution provides through Finbriva. Your institution's own product terms also apply; if they conflict with these terms about a product, your institution's product terms apply to that product.

2. Your account

Your account is opened by your institution, either by a staff member or field agent, or after your institution approves your sign-up request. You sign in with your phone number and one-time codes.

You must give accurate information and tell your institution when it changes. Keep your phone, one-time codes, activation codes and QR code private. Anyone who has them may be able to act on your account.

3. Savings, collections and withdrawals

Contributions collected by an agent are recorded when the agent scans or verifies your QR code or visit code. Check every SMS or in-app confirmation. If an amount is wrong or missing, raise a dispute in the app as soon as possible.

Withdrawals and payouts are subject to your institution's plan rules, any savings lock or loan lien, and the availability of the payment provider.

4. Loans

Before you accept a loan you are shown the principal, interest, fees, total cost of credit and repayment schedule. Once accepted, you must repay as agreed. Late payment may incur the charges disclosed in your loan terms and may be reported as your institution's terms and the law allow.

Credit decisions are made by your institution. Scores shown in the app are an aid to that decision, not a promise of credit.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use another person's account, QR code or phone;
  • give false information or documents;
  • try to access data or accounts that are not yours, or interfere with the service;
  • use the service for fraud, money laundering or any unlawful purpose.

6. Your information

How your information is collected, used and protected, and your rights under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), are explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. Complaints and disputes

Raise disputes about contributions, loans or payments in the app, by USSD where available, or with your institution. Your institution must investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your institution's regulator.

8. Availability and liability

We work to keep the service available and secure but it may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Ghanaian law that cannot be limited by agreement.

9. Suspension and closure

Your institution may suspend or close your account in line with its product terms and the law. You may ask your institution to close your account; outstanding loans must still be repaid, and records are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. When we do, the app will ask you to read and accept the new version before you continue. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.

  • You use Finbriva on behalf of your institution and only for your job.
  • Customer information is confidential personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Open only what your work needs and never copy it out of the platform without authority.
  • Never share your sign-in, codes or device. Every action is recorded against your account.
  • Record cash and transactions truthfully and immediately. Never collect money without recording it.
  • Explain the customer terms honestly when you open an account on a customer's behalf.

1. Scope

These terms apply to every institution staff member, field agent, collector and Finbriva platform team member who signs in to the dashboard, agent app or any staff tool. They add to your employment or engagement terms with your institution.

2. Confidentiality and data protection

Customer and colleague information is personal data protected by the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). You may access it only for the task you are performing, must not disclose it to anyone who is not authorised, and must not export, photograph, forward or store it outside the platform unless your institution has authorised you to do so.

Report any suspected data breach, lost device or misuse to your institution administrator immediately.

3. Account security

Your account is personal. Do not share passwords, one-time codes, authenticator devices or signed-in phones. All actions are audit-logged against your account, including location records for field work.

4. Honest records and cash handling

Record every collection, repayment and cash movement accurately and at the time it happens, verify customers using the QR code or visit code required by your institution, and reconcile cash as instructed. Falsifying records or collecting unrecorded money may lead to disciplinary action and referral to the authorities.

5. Assisted registration

When you create an account for a customer you must explain the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in a language the customer understands and record their agreement truthfully. The customer will also be asked to accept in the app.

6. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • access records outside your role, branch or assignment;
  • change balances, schedules or decisions without the required approval;
  • attempt to bypass security, audit or permission controls;
  • use customer data for marketing or personal purposes.

7. Changes

When these terms change you will be asked to accept the new version before you continue.
